It has been a while since the last post and so much has happened. We have been to 5 national parks, one national monument, 5 states, and seen it all in between. I don't have time to fill you in completely, but for now enjoy our complimentary movie. Later I will make more detailed posts.

Happy Birthday #2
It is finally time to wrap up Avery's Birthday. Two weeks ago we opened her presents, and she loves them. She got way to much, and we thank you all. Now Avery is learning how to walk. She will commonly let go of whatever is holding her up and walk to Jenn or I. It is super fun because she knows she is doing something awesome so by the time she gets to us she is smiling and almost laughing. Next week I will try to have a movie of it. Enjoy the photos of Avery's Birthday Presents.

Happy Birthday Avery!!!
Happy Birthday Avery!!! Last week was Avery's one year old birthday, and the parties just kept coming and coming. Her official birthday was on Friday, but the Elder's Quorum Camp-out was also that weekend. On Wednesday we had the kiddie party, and Avery got a parachute. Then on Thursday just the four of us went out for dinner. She loved the cheese fries, and sort of liked the cheese cake. Then on Sunday Jenn gave her a present from our family. It was around 25lbs of colored rice (see the movie below). We still need to open the presents from all of the rest of our family. We keep trying to do it with her, but she goes to bed so early. Soon she will have her final party with all the other presents. Basically it was Happy Birthday Avery Week. Thanks to all who sent gifts, and we promise she will open them soon.

Life is Good!!!
This week we are going to show
you some of the wonderful things we do with our free time. First off, back when
Mark was in college he and his buddy Ian bought blue wigs to wear at BYU sports
games. This wig has since made its way into the dress up box. One night for FHE
the wig emerged and we spent a good half hour having a photo shoot. Enjoy.
Next up, Jenn decided she needed to
make a little extra dough, and so she convinced three lovely children (Ellie,
Maggie and Jane) to paint her a box which she could sale. If anyone is willing
to pay 8 miles for this beautiful masterpiece please contact her directly.
(watch the movie and you'll understand)

Hawaiian Visitor
This week we had an unexpected, but very welcome visitor. Grandpa Martell came in for his 60th high school reunion. He was staying up in Huntington Beach, and so on Saturday we jumped in the car and head on up. Upon first arrival Ellie has hesitant, but eventually she warmed up. The friend Grandpa was staying with had a playground out back and Ellie and Avery loved it. We decided that Ellie could have a career in gymnastics. Grandpa showered us with gifts, and we had a great time talking to him. He told us a little about the good old days, back when he was a football and track star. He is doing great, and was so excited to see us. We wish he lived closer so we could see him more often, but who wouldn't want to live in Hawaii?

Time for a change...
Well we finally did it...any guesses? Nope we are not buying a house or getting ready to graduate. We bought a new camera. Yep, I convinced Jenn to let me sell our video camera and our canon camera, and buy a new camera which takes pics and videos. I found a good deal on craigslist and bought the camera on Saturday. Then we ran off to a Lady Bug party at the San Diego Botanical Gardens. Ellie was super excited, but I think Jenn was equally as excited.
While there we hunted lady bugs, played with the frogs, made a flower bouquet. and sat in the sand. Then after we had enough of the spotted bugs we ran off to the flower gardens and Lego Land. Enjoy the pics and....video.

Happy Easter/Birthday!!!
Hello World,
This post was meant to be made around 3 weeks ago, but unfortunately my computer crashed. Well actually I dropped a metal water bottle on my computer and the hard drive just couldn't take it. So I lost plenty of movies and pictures that were blog worthy. Anyway lets just skip through and head straight into Easter. This year Sunday wasn’t only Easter it was Mark’s Birthday. Avery was so excited to celebrate both events she got up right around 12 am and didn’t go back to sleep until 2:30 am. What fun…. By the time Avery got up the Easter Bunny had already hidden the eggs and Avery was fortunate to find a couple. She was excited to find these new toys and loved shaking them.
Then around 9 am Jenn and the kids woke up Mark and the hunt was on. First Ellie and Mark had to find their baskets and then the eggs. Ellie was super excited and ran around like crazy. Ellie’s eggs were mostly full of Jelly Beans, which she says are her favorite, and she was generous enough to share with Avery. Avery loved them, and could now drool in Technicolor. The rest of the day was kind of a blur…We had church, family pics, a wonderful Easter dinner, a massive wonderful cheesecake (homemade by Jenn), and then presents for Mark (thanks to all for the love and gifts). Jenn got me a pass to the Wave House. You get to basically bogie board on a machine made wave. It should be awesome. Well, that’s all for now. Enjoy the pics and we will see you next week.

Don't Eat Dirt!
The past few weeks have definitely been a blur. Everyone of us got something of cold. Avery and Ellie were hit the hardest and are finally coming out of it. Avery is now crawling like crazy; Ellie is loving primary (she now has her own Book of Mormon), and Jenn is well on her way to becoming a Yoga Guru.
This week I decided to leave a thought about life in general. While we go through life we have the chance to make decisions all the time. Most of the time we know which choice is better, but many times we fail to choose it. We all have millions of excuses, but those are just that excuses. By choosing the worse choice we are basically eating dirt, and like Avery will demonstrated that is not a wise thing.

Picture Time...
Since I last wrote we have been to Utah, Idaho, and back. We celebrated Christmas, New Years, and Avery can now crawl around. We have started the fitness challenge again, Ellie has learned to throw some serious fits, and Jenn is still beautiful. All in all life is good. We had a wonderful time visiting our friends and families back home. The only thing we didn't get to see very much of was snow.
We are getting back into the swing of things, and life is settling down again. On Monday we celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day by going to a multi-denominational church service project. After that we came home for lunch, and then went off to hike in the Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve. It was awesome. I strapped around 45 lbs on my back (Ellie plus gear), and Jenn carried about 22 lbs (Avery plus gear). We hiked about 2 miles to a beautiful lake overlook, and took some good pics. Enjoy.
